The complete book is a hardcover book, printed on smooth wove paper with title page and justification, unpaginated, bound (as issued) with original black paper covers. As part of his practice, Christopher Wool frequently employs large, block lettering, without strict observation of grammatical correctness. His compositions are forceful in their command and formal techniques, which only aid in capturing his emphatic gestures. Here, Wool re-envisions language by deconstructing the semantic properties of the words that compose the sentences themselves. The complete Black Book is signed and numbered on the colophon page and comes from an edition of 350 with eight artist proofs.
